Abstract | After morethan twenty years of renovation, Vietnam has developed rapidly in all fields, from economy -society, science and technology to the level of urbanization. In recent years, urban networks across the country are increasingly expanding and developing. Along with contributing significantly to the economic development of the country, structural infrastructure, space and the urban landscape have changed rapidly with the obvious progress.In urban areas, the administrative, political, scientific, cultural and other functional areas have been developed synchronous and modern. Many new urban areas, more housing was built complete with amenities and high living conditions, particularly in big cities. But besides that, many poor neighborhoods still exist with extremely poor living conditions, the urban infrastructure is severely lacking.People inpoorneighborhoodsare facingwithmanypressing issues, such as lack ofhousing, wastepollution, transportation, clean water, lack ofpublic space, etc. Inthe samesituation, the selectedarea in this reportis alsoapoor’sresidential areawithout access toa full range ofurban infrastructureservices. However, in order to determine the current living condition of the people this area, the researchers conducted a survey of 90 households representing the 1007 households to assess the quality of technical infrastructure as well as the current state of social infrastructure in residential areas.To build sustainable urban development, living environment in poor areas should be improved, in order to do that, there should be the appropriate policies and the proper care of all levels of government authorities, the local people as well as the role and responsibilities of the social components in upgrading poor neighborhoods |
