Abstract | With the introduction of new higher-strength materials and the wide use of welding, ratal fatigue has become of greater concern and the provisions governing fatigue has become more complex. The aim of this study is to illustrate the application of the fatigue provisions of AASHO Specifications (1965) in the design of steel members for highway bridges. Emphasis is placed on the design of beams and girders according to the AASHO Specifications. Simple and continuous spans of both composite (Steel-concrete) and noncomposite design are treated. |
