Abstract | In recent years, arising of the cost construction is a serious problem that most projects are facing in Vietnam. The Noi B ai - Lao Cai highway projec t and t he Nhat Tan bridge project are two of the largest projects which are unsuccessful because of this problem. Cost control plays an i mportant role in the success of projects, it also contributes to the benefits of owners . In the construction stage , esp ecially, the incurred costs occupy a huge amount of the whole budget, as well as infl uencing significantly to all of the project participations in general and the owners in particular. Most owners do not have effective cost management strategies to maintai n the project in accordance with the proposed budget. This study will help us a better understanding about the factors affecting the incurred cost during the construction stage , such as : site conditions, materials, skilled workers, weather , contracts, infl ation...etc... In addition, understanding the main elements involved in cost (direct costs, indirect costs, and types of contract ...) and discovering solutions help us a better overview on this issue. Moreover, using theor y to research practical projects en ables owners to find the effective cost management strategies in order to take the advantages to the success of the project. |
