AbstractThis paper introducesthe reader to a pre-mature stage of tendering system and prevailing economic system in Myanmar.Reader will also find brief history of economic transformation of Myanmar.Reader will also notice that Myanmar needs more subjective tender guidelines and need of a law for effective implementation of these guidelines.Since the thingsprocured mayvary according to nature of works and organizations, it is useful to have throughknowledge on different procurement types. In this paper, some procurement methods and their explanations by different source writersand some practices of international organizations are cited and shown without much changeon their writings not to happen variable understanding for reader.Brief explanation about Myanmar tender guideline for construction service works, are also presented in this paper.As the case study, government staff housing construction project in Naypyitaw is being studied for its tendering processes; noticing, document preparation, evaluation steps, and selection of successful tenderer, and terms and conditions in it.The study on benefits of tendering method used in this case study project is also described.In lesson learnt and recommendation section, importance of the need of skill to choose an appropriate tender method, are presented based on previous true stories. Besides prevailing needs in construction industry of Myanmar, recommendations for development of construction industry are stated as well.
