| Abstract | Myanmar, now - a - days, itself has achieved infrastructure development to its extent enable to the development of industry, housing and life standard of people. Coming along with these positive aspects, construction techniques and practices have been challeng ed. International engineering management terms are not familiar and have not been acknowledged in earlier times. Myanmar engineers used to traditional management method for projects ; even the projects is small or large - scaled . So, the monitoring system has not been accounted much in practice. In this case study, project monitoring and controlling will be carried out on the undergoing project which is asphalt concrete paving on Yangon - Mandalay expressway. To fulfill the main objecti ves, the methodology used is habitual and Myanmar traditional method to control schedule, cost and quality after monitoring. The problem result out from analyzing the case study is mainly about quality matters. Therefore, quality management plan is needed to develop reliable with the local standards . Moreover, earned value method EVM is introduced as the proposed practice for cost and time management. According to the actual process, this study proposed a framework for developing project monitoring and control strategy for highway projects. Moreover, some recommendations are suggested to improve the performance in terms of asphalt concrete pavement. |
