Abstract | Organizations spend a lot on Human resource development activities and training of the human resource is an integral part of such development activities. It is prime important that the training program implementation and assessment is conducted to obtain f eedback for further improvement of the programs to develop the needed competencies for participants and training effectiveness. This study reviews factors influencing training and development and development of a mechanism for the quality training of human resource, in particular, those employees who are directly engaged in the construction activities and working on the projects and handling various issues relating to those activities. In this study, the research w ork of previous authors has been consulte d to understand the extent to which the trainee's transfers of learning after getting the training to their workplaces is affected by the motivational factors. The research outcome can be useful for implementation on the human resource of MEPCO, especiall y those individuals who are directly engaged in the construction activities as project managers or other employees working on the projects and handling various project activities, whether it is Transmission system construction or Distribution network const ruction. The research find s how training of the manpower and motivation practices in the organization can lead to teamwork improvement and better work efficiencies as to provid e some benchmark to the future training programs conducted in MEPCO, which is a big power distribution organization in Pakistan . Thus the case of employees in construction activities of MEPCO is taken as a case study. Based on the relevant literature review and some in depth interviews, I have come up with some recommendations for strategi c human resource development of Power Distribution Company which is my parent organization Multan Electric Power Company Ltd., WAPDA, Pakistan, in general. |
