Abstract | Agricultural products are basic commodity. In the least developed countries most agriculture producers are poor, live in rural areas. Those producers are known as Smallholder Agricultural Producers. Until the presentday, those smallholder agricult ural producers are still employ the so-called low-tech method as the main mean for producing the agriculture outputs. The primitive method does not give much competitive advantage. And the quality of outputs, usually, are not meeting the new behavior demand of consum ers. As a result, they remian poor, cannot effectively compete with the commercial or large-scale producers. Marketing ability and marketing information accession also play a main role in competitive agriculture producing. Therefore, this report reviews the literature on how effectively the smallholder agriccutural producers participate in the market and how do they struggle to compete in the market for the surplus of their products. The report also looks at the success cases that were intervened by aid agencies or Non-Governmental Organization. |
