| Abstract | The present system existed in UN’s Contribution Unit are the IMIS and Excel based calculation for all the financial and accounting figures. So, in order to automate the process and decrease the time lag between the contributions received from the member countries and the time when they reflect the accoun ting entries in the ledger, a new system has been recommended called NOVA. But before putting the system online, there are lot s of issues that are to be corrected. One of being the most important are, to see the correct ness of the NOVA reports and the excel based financial figures and I was assigned to do th is particular task. In order to understand this I need to have the thorough underst anding of the UN accounting standards and the backhand processes which involved there. My work directly reflects the two units in the UN systems those are Contribution Unit and the IMIS unit. All the issues which I reported have been recommend ed to be used in the final implementation of the project by the team and my supervisor Mr. Juan Matosas. |
