Abstract | This project report shows the details of helping a traditional travel agency to find a web software solution as one of its tools in finding an alternative strategy in the travel market to respond to the risk imposed by the internet penetration. The report includes details of studying the current core functions of the travel agency and proposed alternative of performing those functions through a web software application. Using financial assumptions provided by the firm, it further shows analysis of the return on investment, by calculating basic financial metrics such as NPV, Payback Period and IRR, best and worst case scenarios of the investment outcomes and finding specific financial assumptions of the firm that carry the most potential impact on the returns from investment, using spreadsheet calculation. The report uses assumptions provided by the firm. It ends with a conclusion and recommendations on the most appropriate strategies and their implications in order to avoid a negative return on the firm’s investment, provided such investment is made. |
