Series Statement
AbstractIt is necessary for the hospitality sector to grow together with the blooming tourism sector in Myanmar. However, the problem definition is the lack of skillful and experienced employees in hotel industry. There comes a question how to retain the valuable employees and what are the motivational factors for them to perform well. The goal of study is to understand the nature of the employees in hotel industry in Myanmar and helps them to increase their job satisfaction and motivate them for better services . The project study applied Herzberg’s two factor theory. The data were collected from three to five stars hotels in Yangon, Bagan and Popa. The results are interesting that even the employees from same industry have different perceptions on same motivational factors. Different nature of tasks and work environment makes different judgment.
