| Abstract | City government tried very hard to displace households living along the canals to a new place which is called resettlement zone. They will receive compensation policy framework, support and resettlement by the Vietnam Government and adding to apply specific policies of the city government’s own. This research deals with the impacts of resettlement on income of resettled households in An Hoa Resettlement under An Hoa ward, Rach Gia City. The main objectives of this study were to assess status income and finding solutions to ensure income resilience of the household after displacement and moving to resettlement. To answer research questions, data were collected through fieldwork that involved the collection of both interview and questionnaire sources. Both qualitative and quantitative methods analyzed of the data shows that status income of the households living in resettlement area and dependent on the resources of the local for their livelihoods. Main findings of this study showed that there are many job opportunities for people in the resettlement area, but the skills and qualifications of them not suitable lead to their income only located in the middle-income level. Draw conclusions and recommendations of research to promote efficiency of resettlement policies to improve the income of resettled households and minimize the disadvantages of this policy on people's lives after resettlement in the future. |
