AbstractParallel to rapid urbanization in Ha Tien town, the environment is impacted from industrial zones, construction, households where solid waste are rising becoming a major problem in urban management. This study covers the roles of households in organic waste management relative to recycled waste. It aims to improve environment, health conditions and create the job to income for residents. The study scope is selected for project at RachVuot hamlet, Thuan Yen commune, where is the most pollution in Ha Tien town. Data and information of this research come from secondary and primary sources. Methods also include diagnostic analysis of organic waste management to find out ways to induce roles of householesin terms of the status of organic waste management, assessing community and household practices, and recommending organic waste use and proper disposal strategies for the community and households are conducted and analyzed. It is found that most households and communities are not involved in organic waste management. They often leave garbage anywhere and when on their habits. Because most of them are poor, lack of knowledge, awareness in the management of waste. Moreover, local governments and association are not interested in this issue. They are not organized garbage collection, no propaganda, no mobilization of households participating in the management of waste. This leads to the social and environment conditions affected as health, pollution of waterways. It should be the involvement of the community particularly households, with the participation of government organizations in awareness, mobilization, so households can understand that the benefits of organic waste brings the jobs and create income, improved the environment and society conditions.
