Abstract | Over the past time the process of industrialization and modernization along with urbanization took place with dizzying speed. Effects caused by this phenomenon have both positive and negative aspects. Besides the enormous contribution of growth, economic development, housing for workers in the industrial zone was very difficult. They were migrant laborers from the suburbs and rural areas to urban centers in the search of new opportunities to make money. Most they were precarious living in the slum which have poor conditions of space, hygiene and safety. This issue has been becoming urgent and need to be addressed promptly. In Ca Mau province, most of workers are renting the inn houses or rooms built by the local people with cramped living conditions, temporary, non-safety quality housing and security. Some housing for workers built by private organizations, business but still do not ensure the conditions as prescribed standards, infrastructure systems such as sanitation, drainage were not synchronized to the housing conditions for many workers. This created a great influence on the health of migrant workers. With low income and poor housing, workers lack the conditions to meet the demand recreation, entertainment, sports, resting, learning, emotional exchanges. |
