Abstract | Nowadays, there are many potential travelers using Internet search engines to search for travel information about Thailand and, specifically, about Chiang Mai Province. However, many travel websites are not providing interactive content and information for travelers to enable them to make their decision. For example, a traveler searches for information but the websites do not provide a virtual interactive experience for the traveler to obtain more detail, making the information provided less attractive, less interesting and less likely to be read. Furthermore, many websites provide information in the Thai language only and they are not readable by the travelers. In order to improve travel websites for more interactive use, this research presents a new web 3D application for virtual interactive travel in Chiang Mai Province, to be a model for a web developer. First, this research develops an information model to combine 2D and 3D technology and integrate a new information model for a 3D travel web application. Second is storing the data set to be used in the 3D management system.Third is developing the 3D content management system to organize information for both 2D and 3D. Finally, it is viewing 3D models for virtual interactive use in front of the web browser.
