AbstractIn this research, method and feasibility of developing agent - based location sharing social applications using JADE LEAP platform is studied for the Android OS. JADE LEAP add - on is FIPA standard compliant multi - agent platform for Dalvik virtual machine. The development of the application is described from perspective of agent - based paradigm, which starts, by design of FIPA - ACL message format and ontology for agent communication. After that, different types of agent required for the application are designed with their behaviors . Finally, the system is implemented using Android SDK, SQLite and Google map API v2. Eclipse was used for integrating development environment and JADE remote agent management GUI is used for debugging and managing agents and messages
