Series Statement
AbstractBiogas is a renewable energy source and sustainable that provides energy, many environment benefits and it is ecofriendly to use. This research study analyzes the current situation and usage of biogas in Andhra Pradesh. The main aim of this research study is to estimate the potential of biogas from various sources such as livestock manure, municipal solid waste and waste water from milk factories in Andhra Pradesh. The yearly estimated biogas potential from various sources were calculated as follows: the potential from Livestock manure is 86,086 million m3per year; the potential from Municipal Solid Waste is 932 million m3per year; the potential from Milk factory's waste water is 12 million m3per year. The total biogas potential from all these resources is 87,025 million m3per year. The obtained theoretical biogas potential from the analysis of this research study is equal to 13 million tons of LPG. The analysis of this research study results has shown that there is great biogas potential in Andhra Pradesh from various sources.
