| Abstract | Cai Mep – Thi Vai River is located in t he South Dynamic Economic Zone includ ing Ho Chi Minh City, Dong Nai, Ba Ria – Vung Tau and Binh Duong province that are the most sustainable, strong, and dynamical area i n Vietnam. Cai Mep – Thi Vai River has natural merit , navigation regime is convenient for vessels and development of deep sea port system. Moreover, industrial parks are developing well along the left bank of Thi Vai River, the ability to connect with land road and inland waterway network is also favorable for the development of port system for receiving large vessels . The port construction and development bring not only benefit to the economic social, but also potential risks to the environment. One of which is oil spill caused during vessels navigation . Oil spill (if occur) will cause serious damage to economics , society and environment of the whole region. Therefore, the issue as presented hereunder is studying the potential risk, the spreading of oil by oil spill simulation modeling at Cai Mep – Thi Vai area when it occurs and proposal of methods for mitigation, prevention and treatment. |
