Abstract | A lot of research has been conducted about emitter location related topics focusing on various important aspects of it. However, only a limited number of works concentrated on the geostationary satellite scenario which poses a challenge due to collectors not receiving the signals directly but through the transponder in outer space. Consequently, many bias factors including downlink delays and frequency shifts are coupled together with the uplink delay and frequency shift parameters from emitter location can be found. In this research work, a simulation program is developed with two main objectives. First objective is to verify the joint estimation of differential delay and Doppler values by applying generalized correlation function (GCF) together with the known information to the satellite operators such as ephemeris data and footprint area. (Griffin and Duck, 2006) Second objective is to analyze the performance of GCF by varying some variables involved in the process. The simulation program is developed with the graphical user interface for ease of analysis. The program can be easily understood and extended to use for further analysis |
