AbstractUser centered design method is getting more popular in the software and hardware industries. Industries are realizing that the success of the interactive system depends on knowing the users and the context in which the system will be used. This research study was aimed to investigate the effect of using user centered design in developing an e-filing system in Bhutan telecom Ltd. The existing manual filing was first analyzed to find its performance in terms of efficiency, effectiveness and user satisfaction with the existing system. Then the design prototype of the system was created using the user centered design method. After the design, the user’ were asked to evaluate the prototype to compare the users’ rating of the new system with the old system. From the response of the users’ to both the systems, it was determined whether the system brings expected values to the users’ and the usefulness of user centered design in developing the system in this particular context. The result shows that the system brings value to the users because of the fact the users are using the prototype even before the system is complete whereas in normal cases, we find users need to be pushed by the management to use a particular system to perform some tasks. From the result of first and final survey it can be seen that the system has also increased the efficiency, effectiveness and fulfilled the expectation of most of the users
