AbstractThe cellular mobile industry of Pakistan has been showing tremendous growth since 2003. The major reasons for this high growth are deregulation policies in the telecommunication sector, arrival of two entrants in 2004-05 and decrease in tariff rates. The total number of mobile phone users in Pakistan was more than 91 million in February 2009. Government's deregulation policies and foreign investment incentives in the mobile telecommunication sector has encouraged many global players to enter into Pakistan market. There has been increased competition over time in the cellular mobile market of Pakistan. Qvantel Business Solutions, a telecommunication services provider from Finland positions itself as a 'relationship leader' and its intension is to offer the highest level of commitment to its customers. The company develops its products based on customer needs and the company gives top priority to customers' involvement during the products development stages. Qvantel Business Solutions motto of "we grow as you grow" allows Qvantel Business Solutions to follow the 'service bureau model' of sharing customers l revenues depending on the customers' utilization of services from the company over time. The objective of this study is to examine potential opportunities and suitable strategies for Qvantel Business Solutions in the cellular mobile market of Pakistan. In spite of having a security risk in north-west, the overall telecom sector of Bangladesh is very lucrative for foreign investors. Qvantel Business Solutions could enter into the cellular mobile market of Pakistan as many factors show that this market has a good potential. An appropriate modification of the strategies of Qvantel Business Solutions may be made before entering to the Pakistan market.
