| Abstract | Weblog is one of Internet application that is growing fast worldwide. It becomes a new channel for online advertising. The ad ranking system plays the important role for the advertising business. The benefits of the ad ranking system are for both blog reader and blog owner. The ad ranking system can help the weblog owner to select the right advertising to the right blog reader. It can improve the profit for blog owner. The blog reader also receives the best advertising for them. The main purpose of this research is to develop a new ad ranking system which improves the attention of user on the advertising on weblog. There are many targeting methods are used over the Internet today. In this research, after the nature of weblog was analyzed, the behavior targeting and contextual targeting method were chosen to implement a new ad ranking system. The combina tion of both targeting methods was used to choose the best advertising for each user. Then the advertising displays on the weblog. To evaluate the proposed system, the questionnaires were completed by participants. The new ad ranking system was compared with the fixed advertising and random advertising. The evaluation result shows that the new ad ranking system supports the user’s expectation and was accepted by weblog readers and weblog owners. The blog reader also agreed that the new ad ranking system can improve the user’s attraction on the advertising on the weblog. |
