| Abstract | With the extensive use of data and data mining applications, there are lot of data mining plat-forms available. Among them if we need to choose the one for data mining purpose, the choiceof selection is not an easy task. The objective of this research study is to study and comparefour data mining tools: Orange, WEKA, Rattle, and Rapid Miner based on the comparisoncriteria: mean execution time and mean RAM memory consumption and select the best toolkitamong them based on the mathematical analysis. The methodology for the comparison of thedata mining toolkit is to perform same data mining techniques with all the four data miningtoolkits and based on the selection criteria, we perform mathematical analysis to calculate theoverall score or cumulative weightage using “Rank Exponential” method. Greater the scoreof the toolkit, better is the performance of given data mining toolkit and vice versa. From theresults, we found out that the toolkit “Rattle” is best in performance than other toolkits withrespect to the comparison criteria. We found out the priority for the selection of data miningtoolkit for better performance in terms of mean execution time and mean RAM consumptionare in the order: Rattle>Orange>WEKA>Rapidminer. |
