Abstract | Social networks highly relevant content delivery is among the favorites functionality of users as well as one of their biggest concern. In order to make a service such as Facebookâs newsfeed relevant there are two problems directly related to communities that need to be tackled: Privacy and content filtering. On one hand privacy must enable a user to hide some of his updates, from co-workers for instance. On the other hand content filtering must screen updates of distant acquaintances in order to avoid overwhelming the end-user. Community detection explores the discovery of these consistent groups of friends to whom filtering rules can be applied. The purpose of this research study is to uncover the influence of information from Facebook profiles and network on the quality of community discovered by K-means. |
