Abstract | One of the biggest wealth of a firm is its data. But most of the time, this data is scattered, unstructured and heterogeneous. The question is how to analyze all this data, in reasonable time.Decision makers need to have important facts well presented in order to take the good decision. This is what Business Intelligence (BI) answers.The main objective of this research study is to develop a BI system to help FOGAutomotive. In details, this studyhas analyzed the need of BI for FOG and then designed and implemented a BI system using Excel and Visual Basic. The resulting system is explained with areview of all its features: instructions, data mining, data analysis and data reporting. 4 sheetsshow data in understandable and usable ways, using a color-scaled mapof France. Each sheet displayscritical information such asturnover per France’s department andtime-period. This study has been conducted with the company’s feedback.This study also presentsa detailed view of Business Intelligence and keys points to create a BI system for small and medium enterprises(SME). The outcome resultsof a system which is now used by the company.As for future work, it is recommended that the company may consider building data warehouse to take better advantages of BI system. |
