Series Statement
AbstractNowadays, ground improvement by vacuum combine with PVD method is becoming more commons. Application of this method was conducted for many projects on Mekong soft clay and Sai Gon-Dong Nai clay. This research presents the effectiveness of ground improvement by vacuum combine with PVD method at the site in the Sai Gon-Dong Nai river lower plain based on two parameters, including construction time and change in soil properties before and after ground improvement. In analysis process, GI2000 program was obtained to calculate settlement due to surcharge with PVD and surcharge with PVD and vacuum. Consequently, Kozeny-Carman equation was applied to estimate hydraulic conductivity and vertical consolidation coefficient before and after treatment.
