AbstractThis study consist s of two main points of words. Firstly, soil characterization along the alignment sewer of the second environmental sanitation project of Ho Chi Minh City was made. Secondly, types of shield tunnel boring machine were reviewed, subsequently, the suitable type of shield machine for use in t he second environmental sanitation project in Ho Chi Minh City was identified and the jack forces were provided.
