AbstractThe major problems of all resettlement projects are unable to guarantee socio-economic conditions for resettlers after project. This research is carried out to assess the socio¬economic conditions of resettlers who are living at Central Highland, Vietnam. The research evaluates specific on three main indicators as (i) the resettlers' productive assets such as landholding, livestock, agriculture machinery, (ii) the resettlers' income and employment, and (iii) the resettlers' housing condition, access to water resources and school. The research also wants to suggest measures to improve the resettlers' occupation and income in the future. In term of quantitative, all indicators are compared following before and after resettlement project; besides it also finds out the factors which have highest affect to income of resettlers. Due to the fact that this research focused on quantitative data, so quantitative analyses is employed throughout this research. Basically on the findings, it can be concluded that the Hamon resettlement project influences deeply to socio-economy of resettlers; however, it has both failures and successes. The failures affect negatively to house style, reducing landholding size and livestock herd. In contrast, the successes bring better socio-economic conditions for resettlers as improving production technique, increasing productivity, creating more occupational opportunities, and increasing income
