AbstractThis report is presented in order to fulfill the MBA research requirements of the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT). The report discusses the new decision science of human resources, called Talentship, proposed by two well-renowned researchers and professors by the names of John W. Boudreau and Peter M. Ramstad in 2005. The focus of the report is to analyze how the human resource decision science of Talentship and its related framework can be applied to the global retail industry – something that has not been done yet. In order to make this analysis feasible and reliable, the Talentship framework has been simulated on Carrefour SA, the world’s second largest retailer – again something that has never been done before. This report thus presents (i) a detailed analysis of how a giant retailer like Carrefour SA can implement the HR decision science of Talentship globally and (ii) presents a set of specific recommendations to Carrefour SA in order for the retailer to achieve a level of strategic success, superior and more sustainable than its competitors.
