Abstract | Tremendous competition, information technology revolution, emergence of knowledge savvy and sophisticated customers is posing great deal of challenge to producers as well as retailers in meeting ever increasing complexity in demands. Inventory management and product distribution is being faced with the need to reach the products on to the shelves. Lead times are decreasing and continuous innovation in inventory management and distributions is emerging. Supply chain management is clearly becoming as competitive advantage for businesses which are closer to customers. Being intermediaries in the product value chain, retailers have a mammoth task of coordinating the suppliers to provide availability of products along with reduction in cost for holding inventory. 7-Eleven brought revolutions in Thai retail industry. At present, it is the most successful convenience store business model in Thailand with a lead in market share and number of stores all over the country. The study of 7-Eleven will give the in-depth knowledge of how supply chain management being practice. Structured interview conducted to get a better understanding of their current process together with questionnaire based survey collecting to reflect the value of their operation in the eye of consumer are the methodology being used in this study. The study is covered the upstream and downstream part of supply chain management of bakery product at 7-Eleven. |
