AbstractSince the concept of e-commerce was introduced, the ways of doing business were changed dramatically. Specially, the massive popularity of the internet led the industry to a new era and banks started to offer "Internet Banking". In Sri Lanka, internet banking has not become popular as much as banks expected. Thus, this paper is aimed to figure out the potential banking consumers' concerns on internet banking activities and its' implications. Quantitative research survey was carried out and perceptions were measured using several identified variables such as familiarity, security, awareness, impression, convenience, etc. Typical user of internet banking is highly educated, especially in IT and aged person who has higher level of income. Internet security and familiarity are main worries among users as the transactions involve money. Awareness on both internet related securities and Internet banking also play major role. Further, user satisfaction with currently available banking modes and unfamiliarity are main reasons not to use internet banking. On the other hand, this paper provides overall picture of internet banking service status in Sri Lanka. Ultimately, for the better performance of the internet banking service offering in Sri Lankan banking sector, paper has given recommended suggestions
