AbstractFirst, we will focus on the concepts by defining social entrepreneurship and by trying to draw the differences and similarities between non-profit and for-profit social entrepreneurship and then the balancing act between creating economic value and serving a social purpose. This will help us to highlight the role of social entrepreneurs in the process of the social innovation by comparing a business entrepreneur with a social entrepreneur. To illustrate and clarify this theoretical part we will concentrate on the case of Muhammad Yunus founder of the first micro-credit bank (the Graamen Bank) and Nobel Prize in 2006. In addition we will think about concrete proposals applicable in the business world so that social involvement can match with economical sustainability by creating a social business model. In this last part, we will discourse on the theme of "Responsible Liberalism" without falling into a mere ideological manichaeism we will orient the debate into a more social perspective. Thanks to the theoretical and practical cases studied, we will assess the capacity of social entrepreneurship to reform liberalism and its limits
