As a result, service industry becomes the most important sector of Myanmar economy, which accounts for over 38 percent of annual GDP. However, tourism in Myanmar is only being operated mainly in four dest inations Yangon, Inle Lake, Mandalay and Bagan. Therefore, the aim of this research is to expand tourism destination by promoting a new underdeveloped destination called MraukOo which is famous among Myanmar people for its religious buildings scattered aro und the town, presenting the diversity of ancient Rakhine architectural styles of 15 th to 18 th century. In order to develop new destination, the analysis of Tourists' Satisfaction provides strength and weakness upon current capacity so as to be able to m aintain or implement different areas in MraukOo. In this study, attempts have been made to evaluate domestic visitors and international tourists' satisfaction on tourism products such as; attraction - recreation, infrastructure, transportation/travel, accomm odation and catering according to their travel experience. Data was collected from questionnaires survey based on domestic and international visitors' travel experience and key informant interview with MOHT officials and private stakeholders. The research study has also led to recommendations, one of which is the maintenance of culture and costume of Rakhine which is the only factor that made visitors highly satisfied to visit MraukO |
