Abstract | In this global era, all organizations today strive to achieve the improvement of their performance while increasing the participation of employee by improving their competency. To achieve the target of organization performance, Intellectual capital management where it is internal resources played critical role in all organizations. Intellectual capital is an intangible asset which is ignored by managers. Therefore, intellectual capital where is difficult to measure and difficult to show the result if it has any impact on organization performance. This research had studied an intellectual capital concept, intellectual capital management and approach, intellectual capital measurement tool. This study tried to find the intellectual capital measurement tool where it could apply in Thai organizations. Moreover, this research had investigated in difference categories of Thai organizations in order to find the relationship between intellectual capital and organization performance. Unsurprisingly, there were a strong relationship between intellectual capital and Thai organization performance. Therefore, the founding showed that the measurement tool can applied very effective in Thai organization culture and environment. This could indicate that if an organization would like to increase their performance, intellectual capital would be the second priority a part from others where it is tangible asset. In today market, there are very competitive if an organization pays bias attention on only financial performance and financial profit. There would be an impact on their long run profit. This study supported that there was external dimension which is social capital. It is very easy to be ignored by organization. Although, social capital is an external factor, the research showed that it can have an impact on organization performance. However, this research showed the slightly difference of an impact of structural capital and relational capital on organization performance, it did not mean that those dimensions did not have any impact on organization performance. It has an impact enough for an organization where the manager should pay attention on it. The result of this survey conducted in four organizations in Thailand, highlighted that there were a difference organization categories consist of Public Limited, Independent entity, Government sector and Private organization. In order to be a representative of Thai organization, there were 224 of respondents from four organizations. In the future of study this research would like to recommend two parts; (1) there should be the intellectual capital measurement as a standard tool where it can applied to all organizations (i.e size, category) (2) In order to avoid bias result, there should have enough sample to be the representative as an organization. Moreover, the measurement result can also help an organization to create an effective strategy of intellectual capital management in the future. |
