AbstractM&A is a widely followed strategy by firms for gaining capabilities and resources of other companies that can be leveraged to innovate new products and processes, thus maintaining a long term competitive position in today’s competitive market. To ensure that the capabilities and resources are being disseminated properly, knowledge sharing is essential within and across the firms. The research qualitatively explores firms’ knowledge (tacit and explicit) sharing in multiple acquisition scenario and how it benefits the partner firms in building innovation capability in terms of absorptive capacity and knowledge resource. The research also take a look at the knowledge sharing process in firms that are engaged in cross border multiple acquisition. This research was conducted by using in-depth case study on label business of a Malaysian company which has acquired label companies in three Southeast Asian country: Malaysia, Thailand and Vietnam. I attempt to document existing process of knowledge sharing among the firms and identify how it builds innovation capability of the firms by looking at the product and processes that was fueled by knowledge sharing. From the analysis of collected data it can be corroborated that, as firms in multiple acquisition create an accumulated knowledge base, it helps to increase the innovation capability of the firm.
