Abstract | Sharing economy, also referred to as collaborative consumption is an economy based not on ownership but on the sharing of goods or services. It has revolutionized the sectors of transportation and hospitality in the US as well as in Europe. Collaborative e conomy has demonstrated lightning growth and is expected to generate around $335 billion by 2025 (PwC report , 2014 ), leading people to wonder if sharing economy is the next “Big thing”. Yet, there are still very few collaborative consumption businesses in Asia. Thus, this research aims to determine whether or not investors, entrepreneurs and job seekers should consider developing or investing in such kind of business in Thailand and what are the challenges they would have to face. The research is deal ing with digital economy , economic , social , and cultural landscape in Thailand. |
