Abstract | Thailand, community forest management (CFM) has play important rule in rural development and natural resource management as well. The levels of people participation in process of community forest management were affected to their successful of community forest development. This research aim to study on factors affecting community forestry management towards sustainable by considering four main aspects which are community forest management, the existence of local community, government role in community forest and transfer wisdom knowledge to next generation. The local people of Yangtone community were played important for participation in sampling method the sampling size using in-depth interview and household questionnaire surveys were conducted. The study found the level of people participated in process of community forest management activities is 81.7%, it meant that most of people in community had awareness to preservation on their natural resource while the encouragement factors for participated in CFM were personal interested and awareness of community forest resource. The level and pattern of people involved in CFM activity that were received and were shared information level while the decision-making level was focused at the community forest leaders. The respondents who are female often participated in CMF activities more than male people and the younger generation have less participated. The finding of the study found that encourage factors incentive local people involved for CFM was responsibility to conservation and protection of their forest resource towards their next generation in the future. While, discourage factors to participate in CFM activity were lacks of time and budgets to support the CF programs. The success of CFM activities was dependent on the information perception of villagers and received benefits when they participated in CF activities while the cooperation among the villagers was fulfilled the process of activities for CFM also. At the present, local people have satisfied with the existing of CFM activities in their community and they believed that the successful of community forest can improve their livelihood and support to sustainable development in rural area. |
