AbstractMayohin is anew plant in Thailand, which Lampang Provincial Administrative Organization(LPAO)chose to be energy crop of Lampang province under The Lampang Local Administration Green Heart for the King Project(LLAGHK). The objectives of this research are to study the socio-economic of mayaohin farmers, to analyze attitude and motivation of farmers in mayaohin cultivation andtoprovide useful policy feedback and recommendation to farmers for effective cultivationin Ban Rong, Mae Sook and Rong Kho subdistricts.Although almost all mayaohinfarmershave knowledge on land preparation, pest control and fertilizer which based on their agricultural experience in the other crops, most of them are still highly short of general knowledge and less experience in mayaohin cultivation. Therefore, farmers must improve their knowledge on mayaohin to avoid unsuccessful on mayaohin cultivation which can bring aboutLLAGHKabortion. The important attitude factors are mayaohin biodiesel production and officer promotions. Similarly, the significant motivation factor which has high influence is peer to peer. They have more influence on farmer decision to cultivate mayaohin. Overall farmers’ confidence level in mayaohin is a little because of lack of knowledge on mayaohin cultivation, unsure in officer promotions and flooding of mayaohin output in the future. The recommendation from this study is that there are three parts which government should supportmayohin farmersincluding promoting knowledge and skills, promoting the group gathering of famers and financial support. These affect to effective and sustainability of mayaohin cultivation. However, government also has to guarantee the market.
