AbstractThe thesis was aimed to study the situation of agricultural mechanization in Northeastern Thailand, estimating the agricultural mechanization index, formulating the agricultural mechanization model and further applying to create the map of mechanization. Primary data was obtained through field survey and personal interviews using structured questionnaires. The data were collected from 90 farmers; 45 were the famer who has tractor and the rest were the farmer who doesn‟t have tractor. Secondary data were obtained from available literature and related organizations. The results showed that average age of overall family leader is 50.9 years old. Average age of family leader of the tractor family is 54.54 years old and 60.65 years old is the average age of the family leader of the family without tractor. Average year of experience in doing farm of the family leader is 34.98 years. Average year of experience in doing farming of the family leader of the tractor family is 34.61 years and 35.33 years is the average year of experience in doing farming of the family leader of the family without tractor.Average net family income of the family is 153,065.17 Baht. The amount of 208,697.67 Baht is the average net family income of the family with tractor and 101,060.87 Baht is the average net family income of the family without tractor. Average family member of 4.17 persons/family. The amount of 5.39 persons/family is the average family member of the family with tractor and 4.07 persons/family is the average family member of the family without tractor. The popularity of using Kubota tractor is 68.2 percent follow by the use of Yanmar brand which is 22.7 percent. Ford and New Holland is the brand that is the least popularity of use in the sampled area which is 6 and 2.3 percent respectively. Major sources of funds for buying machines included ownsavings with 50 percent followed by taking loan from BAAC with 36.4 percent. Mechanization index of the year 2011 for the whole Kingdom of Thailand was 0.55. Mechanization index among regions varied between 0.13-0.67
