AbstractCantaloupe ( Cucumis melo L .) is a short - term crop which farmer can grow during turn around time (TAT). Cantaloupe has 65 - 75 days life cycle. The study was conducted to study the effect of chemical and organic fertilizers, which applied five times to the plant during e xperiment. The fertilizer mixture (T4) 13 - 13 - 21, 46 - 0 - 0 mixed swine manure were the most effective formula that promoted high number of fruit and weight. At flowering stage, the fertilizer mixture (T3) 13 - 13 - 21, 46 - 0 - 0 mixed cattle manure had effect on n umber of complete flowers. And the only swine manure (T7) showed the highest sweetness average among all of treatments. Moreover, cantaloupe markets concern about fruit weight. (T2) 13 - 13 - 21, 46 - 0 - 0 mixed cattle manure promoted the heaviest weight of fruit . The combination of chemical and organic fertilizers helps long term soil physic o - chemical improvements. And also the difference fertilizer mixtures had effect at the flowering and fruiting stage. Moreover, the nutrient management was more effective in increasing number of female flowers and producing fruit when compared to standard farmer’s practice.
