Abstract | Nowadays , the demand of energy, especially electricity has been highly increasing. Many countries, therefore, have continuously renewed technology of electricity generation and looked for new resources of energy in order to replace exhausting ones. Also, nuclear p ower demonstrates more and more advantage in ensuring energy supply. For instance, cost of electricity generation is competitive, it reduces amount of carbon dioxide (CO2) and brings much benefit for industry, agriculture, health care and etc... Due to that, nuclear power is one of priorities (choices) being considered by many countries. The fact is that to build up successfully a project of nuclear power plant, it needs a schedule of performance with serious and careful preparation of human resource and tech nical infrastructure as well. It is necessary for countries, which are interested in and want to build up nuclear power plants in the future, to research, analyses international experience and lessons before making plans of nuclear power development and bu ilding nuclear power plants for their development purpose. In Vietnam, demand for electricity is expected to increase rapidly during the next twenty years. In order to meet the electricity demand up to 168 TWh (Base Case of Demand) and 200 TWh (High Case o f Demand) in 2020, Vietnam’s power sector should have a proper plan to expand the generating capacity. Nuclear power is considered such as energy option in the Vietnam’s energy context for the period 2000 - 2020. In the end of 2009, the National Assembly of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam has decided the investment policy of two nuclear power plant projects, with planning of beginning construction of the first NPP on 2014 and the connection of the first unit to t he grid on 2020. In the first of 2010, the Prime Minister has approved Master plan for Ninh Thuan nuclear power project implementation also. By studying plan of NPP projects in Vietnam and researching factors affecting implementation of conceptual and plan ning stages of NPP projects in Vietnam, the research identify NPP project process in Vietnam and propose recommendations for adjustment planning for NPP projects in Vietnam and Plan for the next NPP projects in Vietnam . This thesis like reference documents provide authorized bodies with necessary scientific document for having successful decision making for building nuclear power plant projects in Vietnam. |
