AbstractIn recent years the demand for the high-rise construction has been growing due to scarcity of space in certain areas. Also high-rise buildings have a demand as they are becoming a symbol of status for the present generation. The high-rise building consumes a lot of investment for its construction. The research on high-rise (Duiyong, Shidong, & Mingshan, 2014)showed that more than 50% of the total of the project is consumed by the construction materialonly. Thematerial logistics is very important in a high-rise project. This thesis therefore firstly aims to study various important process related to material in high rise construction. Secondly, it aims toidentify the major activities related to material logistics. Finally the framework for various activities and material involved in material logistics is developed and proposed. For everything to be systematic a frameworkfor research isdeveloped to direct the research including the issues that shouldbe concerned. Than the case study research methodology is conducted in order to comprehensive the material logistics in high-rise buildings. After that two high-rise building projects are investigated regarding the practices. The practices of each case are compared to one another by using cross case analysis in order to examine the various processes in the projects. The results of these analysis shows the factors effecting the material logistics and the best practices of material logistics that should be followed in the project to complete the project efficiently
