AbstractBenefits from efficiently constructed buildings are well known and a successful construction project is beneficial to all. If we are ready to face the challenges of low performance and higher cost arising from existing practices then we need to focus our efforts on delivering the value that is needed. By this we can attain a continuous improvement in the construction industry as a sustainable result. The improvement in the performance can only be measured in the construction phase while the improvement in the cost reduction can be measured from bidding to close-out phase. Hence, cost reduction in the construction is the advantage for improvement. To achieve the reduction in cost of the project, we need to make radical changes in the methods of project delivery. It is a challenge to the industry to commit itself to adopt the change in the cost reduction techniques as cost is the main criteria to start or finish any project.
