Abstract | This thesis attempts to find out the different types of structures for forming and operating a Construction Joint Venture for contractors in India and Thailand, the procedure followed in forming the CJV, were as governed by the laws and regulations of Indi a and Thailand, the avenues and factors controlling the contractor’s partner selection and the development of different types of Joint Venture s to suit the purpose of the project. The Construction Joint Venture agreement, Structure, Operation and risks are all discussed with the objective of summarizing the guidelines for successful Construction Joint Venture formation and operation. Most Construction Joint Venture companies run successfully, h owever, some of the JV Contractors are facing problems and diffi culties in operation, which will influence the total project. Very little research has been carried out, especially in the structure, operation and risk matters. This study serves the best introduction to the formation of JV Agreements and regulations in I ndia as well as Thailand. It also identified risks which mostly occur during the operational stage of the JV. Finally, by comparing the three Joint Venture s surveyed, recommendations are made to three types of JV’s contractors to avoid mistakes in the oper ation and to run successful Joint Ventures. |
