AbstractConstruction industry is one of the most critical aspect for improving the level of nation. Risk is inherently present in all construction projects. From beginning to end, the construction process is complex and characterized by many uncertainties of construction projects fail to achieve their time, quality, and budget goals. This study was based on quantitative research through questionnaire survey to investigate the level of contract administration and how these factors effect on project risk managing. This study was conducted in Myanmar construction industry and residential and commercial projects to investigate the practices of contract administration level and project risks level of contractors. Moreover to find out the relation of these contract administration practices with project risks reduction from contractor side of view. The contract administration practices have seven factor groups and five project risks of contractors. By doing so, contract administration practices can be improved for reducing project risks of contractors in Myanmar. In addition, the second most important part is whether pre-construction and construction factors had influence on the relation between project risks of contractors. The finding showed that there is a positive relationship between project risks reduction and contract administration practices. It means that the better contract administration practices, the lower project risks reduction for contractors. Moreover, preconstruction and construction factors have been found as positive moderator between the relation of project risks reduction and contract administration practices. It means that the higher the level of preconstruction and construction factors, the better in reduction of project risks of owner.
