Abstract | Constructionindustry isoneofthevitalsectorsineverycountry whichisaprimary sectorinsuccessfuleconomy andhighgrowthrate.Besidesthese advantages, constructionindustryisgoingthroughmanyconsequencesandoneofthe majorproblemthateverycountry isultimately facingisdelay inprojects.Construction delayscanbe definedaslate completionofworkcomparedtotheplannedschedule or contract schedule. The firstobjective isto identify the major causes of delay in construction projects (residential) in India. Second objective is to analyze the role of team effectiveness in a project and how it is going to effect on the overall delay of the project. The third objective of this study is to identify effects of delay. After the verification from experts, researcher collected data fromeighty-eight respondents.Data analysis is done using Exploratory Factor Analysis (EFA) which is used to interpret the constructs, followed with Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA) to confirm the model. Structural Equation Modelling (SEM) is used to analyze the relationship between the project factorsand overall delay of the project with team effectiveness as a moderating variable.Material and labour related factors are identified as important factors while the external related factors as low. From the second objective, team effectiveness acts a moderating variable for material management and financial related factors. It also shows that there is noeffect of moderation for frequency of occurrence while for degree of impact there is an effect. Disputes with client/ consultant and within the board are considered the most important effects. Hence to reduce/ minimize the overall delay, team effectiveness between the project members plays a prominent role |
