AbstractNowadays, the construction becomes a well - known process due to enormous demands and it should be very careful in planning because it is concerned with the overall cost and duration of the whole construction project. Managing of construction logistics at construction sites becomes increasingly complex with rising construction volume. The pro cess of planning, implementing and controlling construction activities in delivering resources from the point of production to the point of use is called logistics management. The case study has examined the existing practice of logistics management i n bui lding construction projects in Myanmar. In order to become project success, finish within targeted date and to get profit at the end of the project , it is more common with the Contractors. Its best practice of improvement for construction project operation is effective logistics management not only before starting construction but also during construction and till the end of the project. Firstly, this thesis aims to identify the existing practice of logistics management factors in building construction pr ojects . Secondly, it aims to investigate and identify the consequences of existing practices under logistics management factors at project level of building construction. Finally recommendations for improvement in construction operations through effective logistics management in building construction projects have been proposed. Three case studies are investigated regarding existing practices. All the projects are nearly the same construction stage. The practices of each case are compared to one another by using case wise and cross case analysis in order to examine the strength and weakness of logistics factors in the projects. Suggestions have been discussed and given for improvement of weaknesses in the construction operations.
