AbstractConstruction industry is the second most risky and toughest business in the world. In general, construction projects are enforced by law with the help of construction contracts where parties involved in the project mutually agree. This research focuses of risk factors which will affect the project performance in contractor’s perspective. Therefore, assessing the contract risk by contractor is essential and important to complete the project as per the contract documents. The study is qualitative and quantitative in nature. Through interview questions, criteria will be developed for the tool and through questionnaire survey weightage of importance of each factor in contract risk assessment is calculated. The major part of the tool is criteria and minor part of the tool is weightage of importance. Criteria validation is done through evaluating two real contracts which are already completed by the same contractor and comparing the results with actual project performance. This tool will be able to evaluate a contract with design-bid-build procurement system.
