Abstract | Precast construction is the advance technology of the construction method which makes the construction faster , high quality, and less waste reduction . The precast construction is widely used in all kinds of building construction, roads, bridges etc., all over the world and are rapidly developing when compared to India. The construction in India is mostly dependent on the conventional construction metho d which is time taking process and less quality construction method when compared to the precast construction . Recently India also started using precast technology in various types of building constructions, roads and bridges but rarely used in the housing sector. Due to rapid increase in India’s population there is demand for the housing units in India . Hence, to reach the demand of housing new construction method like precast housing construction must be made into reality by majority of the investors and the precast suppliers and contractors. Due to the developing precast industry in India , most of the contractors are not aware of the precast construction in housing sector . The main aim of this study is to know the exact problem of why the precast construc tion method is not mostly used by the contractors in the housing sector . The study is conducted in the whole process of precast construction and it is compared with the conventional construction method process so that the exact problem can be identified of why precast construction method in housing sector is less used when compared to the conventional construction method. Finally, suggestions have been discussed in improving the usage of precast construction method in housing sector when compared to the conventional construction method. |
