AbstractConstruction is one of the areas that will lead to the economic development of Vietnam in particular. Nowadays, new technologies and techniques have been developed to make the projects of higher quality. However, there are still many projects with unsatisfactory quality and the reason is the appearance of defects in the construction. The purpose of this study is to assess causes, identify and classify common and major defects in Vietnamese projects as well as solutions to minimize the occurrence of defects in the building. The documents and information are considered in the primary and secondary data. After that, a quantitative study will be conducted through the survey to the subjects with extensive experience in the field in Vietnam.
