Abstract | Agriculture sector plays an important role to achieve growth and poverty alleviation in anycountry and especially in developing countries like Thailand and due to this fact Governmentneeds to aid the sector by providing useful services to farmers. These services can only beprovided when concerned agriculture departments possess related data from field. The datais also useful for demand and supply analysis and disaster preparedness. Various approachesare being carried out to collect data from field and paper based forms are mostly used forthis purpose but this process is difficult, time consuming, error prone and needs a lot of manpower and due to this fact data cannot be analyzed timely and efficiently. This study provides a system to support agriculture departments in data collection processand collected data analysis using modern trends of Information and Communication Tech-nology (ICT) and with the concept of crow sourcing. ICT provides an easy mechanism tokeep updated records from field by utilization of its various tools including Location BasedService (LBS), Geographical Information System (GIS) and Augmented Reality (AR).This system provides an android application to support data collection process by intro-ducing dynamic survey forms capable of incorporating data for all crops, route guidance tofind the nearest road to field and AR view to find the exact land and a framework to supportcrowd sourcing concept. The system also provides a GIS based desktop application to sup-port data analysis including spatial analysis, data checking and generating summary charts. Finally, this system aims to provide state of the art technology which allows not only agri-culture departments but also farmers, land owner and other people as volunteers to work forbetterment of agriculture sector. |
